The search for the two mountaineers from Romagna who have been missing since Sunday, December 22 on the Gran Sasso has resumed . The Alpine Rescue and Guardia di Finanza teams have returned to Fonte Cerreto, the departure point for the cable car to Campo Imperatore, to coordinate the activities.

But the situation is still very difficult, despite the improvement in the weather. For today, in fact, attempts by land are still excluded given the high risk of avalanches (3 on a scale of 5) that does not allow the teams to operate safely with skis or crampons on their feet.

Instead, if the weather conditions improve, a helicopter flight over the area is expected in the early afternoon.

Luca Perazzini and Cristian Gualdi, 42 and 48, slipped into a ravine on Sunday. The last request for help and the last contact with the two dates back to 7:00 p.m. last Sunday . And the rescuers themselves, due to the prohibitive weather conditions, were trapped for two nights in Campo Imperatore due to a blizzard of wind and snow . Only yesterday did they manage to descend to the valley, suspending the search.
