The prosecutor asks for two years of imprisonment, the judge acquits him. Yesterday in court in Sassari the sentence against a 45-year-old from Sassari accused of domestic abuse and personal injury. The alleged victim is his wife, who had accused him of violent, threatening and offensive conduct, which occurred between December 2020 and March 2021 in a town in the hinterland of Sassari. In addition, the man, according to his ex-wife, allegedly threatened the woman with taking her children away and, on one occasion, in March 2021, allegedly caused her personal injury during an argument due, it would seem, to jealousy.

Faced with this evidentiary framework , prosecutor Alessia Sanna believed the charges were proven and requested two years of imprisonment for the 45-year-old. Defense attorney Laura Murziani had a completely different opinion, dwelling on the frequent contradictions in the words of the injured party as well as in his behavior, and also recalled the woman's partial retraction of the accusations.

The final decision of Judge Valentina Nuvoli was of acquittal, as regards family abuse, because the fact does not exist, while she downgraded the second charge to negligent injuries, acquitting the defendant due to the particular triviality of the fact. The civil party lawyer was Sabrina Mura.
