All victims of thieves (perhaps a small group of people), the owners of the service areas of Olbia , especially in the Industrial Zone, no longer want to deal with almost daily raids. For almost two months the thieves have been striking undisturbed, there are about fifteen episodes reported to the police. Those responsible for the robberies smash windows, fixtures and furniture, take away what they can and also damage parked cars. The Q8 service area in the Industrial Zone has been hit four times, the last at dawn today. The trade associations are taking a stand.

The provincial president of FIGISC Confcommercio Area Gallura, Stefano Schirru , signed a note: «Following the latest events that have involved several fuel distributors in the area, hit by thefts even repeatedly, we express concern and fear. Sooner or later these acts could degenerate into something more tragic. These criminals, now willing to do anything, have no qualms about risking their own lives but especially those of entrepreneurs just to scrape together a few euros. Therefore, the category, deeply concerned, asks the competent bodies for a greater effort in controlling the territory, through an even more incisive presence of Police and Carabinieri. Operators in the sector have always made themselves available to collaborate with representatives of the police force, to prevent these criminal events from degenerating. In the next few days, the category will officially request a meeting with the institutions to analyze and find solutions that can stem the phenomenon».

The Carabinieri of Olbia recently arrested a person who was taking goods worth approximately 14 thousand euros from a service area. The arrested man was released from prison after the validation hearing and is said to have started another break-in, again in the industrial area of Olbia, a few hours after his release.
