Starting tomorrow, and until April 11, the maxi international exercise "Ita Eu Modex 2025" on summer fires. For the first time it takes place on the island between Nuoro, Mamoiada and Orani. Upon arrival, the base camp will be in the capital of Barbagia in the former forest nursery in Viale Murichessa, over 500 operators from European Union countries: Austria, Bulgaria, Greece, Romania, Slovakia and Slovenia.

The scenarios of the large exercise, in days when the weather – according to forecasts – will be unstable and rainy, are all included in the areas between Nuoro, Mamoiada and Orani . A large forest fire and an interface fire will be simulated, but the evacuation of a retirement home is also planned.

7 modules in the field: 6 specialized in fighting fires on land from various nations and one, the Greek one, specialized in fighting fires with air vehicles . Each module will be self-sufficient and will be composed of approximately 50 operators each, including experts in extinguishing and logistics and 75 vehicles. All under the direction of the regional civil protection.
