Doctors and nurses transferred from the Oncology Department to the San Michele hospital in Cagliari "sometimes leaving the place uncovered". This is the situation denounced by Fials, which points the finger at the leaders of Arnas Brotzu . «The modus operandi – we read in a press release – is always the same: double standards . It also happens that a change is made, but it is never equal , nor compensatory. The reasons why anaesthetists, cardiologists, radiologists, nurses and obstetricians, over time, after several years of experience at the Oncology Hospital were transferred to the San Michele Hospital are not clear, without taking the skills acquired into account at all »

For Fials, it would seem "absurd and incomprehensible to transfer a cardiologist specialized in cardio oncology, a specialization that we know is fundamental for cancer patients as they are subjected to treatments that have cardiotoxicity as a side effect. All of this is always only to the detriment of the patients , because the waiting lists inevitably increase . Oncology should be the regional reference HUB, at least on paper, in fact we must "unfortunately" admit that in the last decade, with the incorporation into the Brotzu Hospital, the Businco Hospital has been impoverished , completely losing its identity".

But the controversy does not stop at the transfers of medical staff and also brings into play the use and management of the Oncology facility, which «has become a place of occupation of spaces without there being a logical criterion; nor is the "ghost" Neurorehabilitation department an example, as it is underused, it would seem with the presence of just two patients per day". Then the appeal to the regional leaders for a "significant intervention, aimed at restoring the lost identity to the Oncology hospital, through actions aimed at restoring the human and material resources essential for achieving its historic levels of efficiency and effectiveness".
