The mayor of Borutta, Silvano Quirico Arru, interpreting the common feeling of the citizens, as a sign of respect and participation in the family's pain, proclaimed citizen mourning for 22 July, the day of the last farewell.
The mayor has ordered with an ordinance that flags be hoisted at half-mast in all municipal offices. Furthermore, all the civil celebrations planned for the patron saint of Borutta, Santa Maria Maddalena, have been postponed, with an invitation to all citizens, and in particular to self-employed businesses, entrepreneurs and traders to suspend their activities in conjunction with the funeral ceremony , with the most appropriate methods for these circumstances, as a tangible sign of closeness to the family. The pain of the young man's death also affected the town of Bonorva where the boy worked in his father's funeral agency business.
