The bureaucratic process for the construction of the new Cagliari stadium, the facility that should be built on the site of the ruins of Sant'Elia (abandoned since 2017), continues positively. Today, during the hearings on the budget, the councilor for public works Antonio Piu announced the availability in law of 50 million euros for the work: 3 million in 2025, 10 in 2026, 15 in 2027 and 22 in 2028, in compliance with the program agreement.

"It is certainly not the only positive note of this financial maneuver", commented Roberto Li Gioi, president of the IV commission, "but the allocation of the Region for the construction of the new stadium in Cagliari represents a great step forward in the interest of the Municipality of Cagliari and of a club that has thousands of fans throughout Italy". Last Saturday, the president of Cagliari Tommaso Giulini had hoped for the closure of the bureaucratic part within the current year .

The councilor also indicated other budget items, in addition to those for the new Cagliari stadium : interventions for the maintenance of viaducts and bridges (88 million euros in the three-year period), 3 for cycle paths and 26 for internal roads of local authorities, 5 for works to mitigate hydrogeological risk in the Municipalities, 13 for the arrangement of town halls and 9 for the expansion of cemeteries. 5 million euros were also allocated to complete the design of the Sardinian Transversal and finance the first expropriations; to arrange some Sardinian tourist ports and for the maintenance of small reservoirs that the Municipalities are unable to manage due to lack of funds. For the Municipality of Cagliari, instead, 3 million to complete 40 apartments to be rented at moderate rents.
