Today, at 6:00 p.m., the shepherds will unite again for a mobilization that recalls the historic one of 2019, when the Island stopped to protest against the price of milk, asking for fair compensation for their work.
A large procession of tractors and cars will start from two separate points: one from Ottana, at the entrance facing Maschera, and the other from Sologo, on state road 131 dcn at the fork for Lula. The two processions will meet in Pratosardo, in the municipality of Nuoro, giving life to an event that aims to strengthen the voice of those who work the land and raise livestock every day.
A mobilization that arises from the need to respond to the growing difficulties faced by the Sardinian agricultural and livestock sector, increasingly struggling with economic crises, lack of resources and policies that pay little attention to the needs of local operators.
The fight for the dignity of Sardinian shepherds and farmers, as in 2019 for the fair price of milk, is more relevant than ever today, with the desire to ask for concrete answers from the institutions.
