As already happened at the Basovizza sinkhole in Trieste and Turin, also in Cagliari, in via San Lucifero, offensive phrases appeared in front of the monument in memory of the exodus and the sinkholes.

"Unfortunately, not even Cagliari is spared from the wicked and uncivilized action of defiling public property with insults to the martyrs of the Foibe by the left and the far left . I hope there is unanimous condemnation from those who govern the city and from all political forces", comments Salvatore Deidda, deputy of Fratelli d'Italia and president of the Transport, Post and Telecommunications Commission of the Chamber of Deputies

"Enough with those who deface the city - continues Deidda - they know each other well, we must distance ourselves from those who still want violent confrontations , the day before February 10 and right in the Martiri delle Foibe park in Cagliari, symbol of a common heritage of Italians and Sardinians".

Senator Antonella Zedda, deputy group leader of Fratelli d'Italia, instead asks Mayor Massimo Zedda to have the wall cleaned immediately. "An offensive and insulting writing not only towards the victims of the Foibe but also towards the pain experienced by all their families. Cagliari is not this and such an act must only be condemned and stigmatized with firmness".
