They had been looking for her for days but she, in reality, was in her home in Taranto, now lifeless.
AA, 76 years old, seemed to have vanished into thin air: searches had begun on 13 July, including posters around the city. Many knew her and saw her going out with a shopping trolley, until that day.
A retired teacher, the elderly woman was found dead in her home where she lived in precarious conditions, submerged in waste. According to the local press, she was a serial hoarder and collected everything she found on the street in her trolley.
Only yesterday the entry into the apartment, which was then cleared out, allowed the tragic discovery to be made. The cause of death remains to be clarified.
