Screams, cries and a passenger suffering a heart attack . Terror on the Cologne-Rome flight which, during the landing phase, right above Fiumicino airport , encountered strong turbulence due to a storm . And on board all hell broke loose.

Describing those moments was an entrepreneur from the Marche region, who was used to traveling often for work and had never experienced an episode of this type. "I didn't sleep a wink all night, but I'm happy to still be here to tell the story of having overcome this bad experience ," Angela Velenosi explained to Corriere Adriatico .

The flight she had boarded was scheduled to land at 1:50 p.m. in Fiumicino. "For 25 minutes we faced such turbulence that many felt ill and one passenger had a heart attack: not even the stewardesses could move, so much so that the man was laid on the ground. I hope he survived, because his condition, even after landing, seemed critical. I had a young woman next to me who remained clinging to my arm for all those interminable minutes, during which I thank my strong stomach for not giving in."

“We were so close to the ground that our smartphones were getting signal and I was trying to send WhatsApp messages updating my loved ones , even though it was really hard to stay calm when everyone around us was losing it,” he added. “Everyone was screaming, many were crying during the turbulence, while when we landed the same scenes were repeated, but of joy .”
