A piper ended up off the runway while landing at the Strada della Berlia tourist airport in Collegno, managed by the Turin Aeroclub. There were four people on board, who remained miraculously unharmed. A girl was transported by ambulance to the Martini hospital in Turin due to the severe shock she suffered.
The owner was driving the aircraft and the flight had left shortly before, headed towards Olbia in Sardinia, but immediately after take-off the pilot returned to the airport, perhaps due to a breakdown, although investigations are still underway . The piper was seriously damaged.
Inspectors from the National Flight Safety Agency are investigating the accident. In addition to the paramedics, firefighters also attended the scene.
