Moscow "hopes" that the United States and its allies "take seriously" the fact that Russia has tested the new Oreshnik hypersonic missile over Ukraine . This is what Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said in an interview with American journalist Tucker Carlson.

"The United States and the allies of the United States who supply these long-range weapons to the Kiev regime - he said - must understand that we would be ready to use any means to prevent them from succeeding in what they call the strategic defeat of Russia and to defend our legitimate interests."

"There are several channels, mainly on the exchange of people serving in Russia and the United States. There have been several exchanges," Lavrov then added in the interview. "There are also channels that are not publicized, but basically the Americans send the same message that they send publicly, which is that we need to stop, accepting the Ukrainian demands and position."

In any case, according to Lavrov, Russia does not believe that the resolution of the Ukrainian crisis is the exclusive competence of Moscow and Washington. We "prefer the ways that prevail in the BRICS, in the Shanghai Cooperation Organization, where the principle of the UN Charter of sovereign equality of states is truly embodied, while the United States is not accustomed to respecting the sovereign equality of states."
