On the eve of returning to the Chamber, while the committees are constantly pressing against energy speculation, the center-right has not yet given up on passing some of its proposals.
Tomorrow we will discuss article 2 of the Council's moratorium which prohibits the construction of renewable energy plants for eighteen months. This is the most important part of the bill, where all the territorial areas subject to safeguard measures are listed. Someone in the center-right pointed out that, given the characteristics, the areas considered would in any case be protected. Reason why the council could have liquidated the case more quickly. In fact, we are talking about protected natural areas, wetlands, areas included in the Natura 2000 network, transit and reproduction areas of protected wildlife species, areas at risk of hydrogeological instability, areas less than seven kilometers from cultural heritage, the three hundred meter range from the shoreline , national parks, forests, woodlands, areas less than seven kilometers from other renewable plants. Requirements that the law already provided for.
The list of cases for which the application of the moratorium is not contemplated is even more controversial: apart from plants for self-consumption, ordinary and extraordinary maintenance or revamping of existing plants.
