Closed in June 2022, the Diana bridge on Lake Coghinas was reopened by Anas, an intervention of extraordinary importance for the territories between Gallura and Logudoro . «It's a strategic connection, I took charge of it two years ago. The intervention is the result of synergistic work between Anas, which financed the work, the Ministry of Infrastructure, the Sardinia Region and other territorial bodies", underlines with satisfaction the Lega MP Dario Giagoni, who highlights the direct commitment of the Minister of Infrastructure Matteo Salvini.
Built in 1925, it is the oldest reinforced concrete bridge in Sardinia, it is 315 meters long, has 15 spans of 16 meters and a central arch of 72 . A year ago the renovation and safety works on the Diana bridge were stopped due to the decision to suspend the release of water from the Coghinas into the sea of Valledoria, after the river of mud that had poured onto the coast creating inconvenience for tourists and bathers. The emptying operations of the reservoir began in May to lower the level of the lake and allow maintenance work on the bridge, which has been closed since 2022 due to a worsening of the conservation and functional conditions of the structure.
«During the works process», highlights Giagoni, «I had urged the former regional councilor Salaris to obtain the non-subjectability of the environmental impact constraint (Via) for the infrastructure. Therefore the new regional council has now completed the stages of a technical-political cooperation started in 2022. I underline the commitment with the MIT, Anas and the other territorial bodies continues for the other key infrastructures of Sardinia".
