Few controls in the streets of the town. This is why the Municipality of Santa Giusta takes action but at the same time accuses the Prefecture of Oristano of not having listened to the requests made a few months ago.

Two new traffic policemen have been on duty in the lagoon town for a few days. They were hired on a fixed-term basis with the right to extend. They join the only two that were in service before.

The two agents will be operational until September: «For now we have allocated twenty thousand euros of budget funds - explains the Personnel Councilor Pierpaolo Erbì - Now, however, the offices will try to understand if it will be possible to recover other resources to extend the hiring. We are alone, we are in total disarray."

Erbì gives a snapshot of what has been happening for some time: «There are just two carabinieri on duty plus the commander. And we have no longer been able to count on the presence of the Barcellare company, which was dissolved two years ago due to various problems that were unfortunately never resolved. We have already pointed out the lack of surveillance to the Prefecture several times, asking for intervention, but we have never received responses."

In recent days, attention is paid to the continuous demonstrations against the wind projects at the port of Oristano: «Obviously our very few police are also involved on this front - explains Erbì - This is an example that demonstrates how the country remains exposed. Yet the events that happened in Santa Giusta in recent months are known, including cars that caught fire and the bank robbery."

Now the number of people in Santa Giusta is also increasing: «The population is doubling - concludes Erbì - and many people also arrive in Abarossa from neighboring towns».
