A special Sunday for Antonio Angioni, known to all as Stefano, who today crossed the 100-year milestone. A host of relatives and friends celebrated him. The prime minister Rita Murgioni also arrived at her brother's house in the historic center of Quartu, and delivered a plaque and a medal that moved the new centenary.
Antonio Angioni is lively and in great shape and reveals first of all why they call him Stefano, as also written on the big birthday cake. «My godmother was called Stefana and she wanted me to be called like her, so I am Stefano» . After dedicating himself to the countryside as a young man, the grandfather later worked for most of his life in the Fornaci Picci where «I was a stoker, that is, I baked the tiles».
A true Quartese, he met his wife Natalina, who is no longer with us today, in sa passillada, the walk between Piazza Azuni and Piazza Sant'Elena where people used to go for a walk to look for a girlfriend . "Those were good times," he recalls, "everything was better, but the time that was, is no more."
