These are the requests to the Court of Assizes of Sassari , presided over by judge Massimo Zaniboni, by Nicola Lucchi, defender of Fulvio Baule, the 42-year-old bricklayer from Ploaghe accused of killing his in-laws, Basilio Saladdino and Liliana Mancusa, with an axe. , on February 26, 2022, in Porto Torres . That evening Baule attacked his ex-wife Laria Saladdino, who escaped the massacre, with the same ferocity.

In his speech the lawyer attempted to dismantle the reconstruction of the civil party , underlining the total absence of premeditation and futile motives and underlining the defendant's state of mind and his fear of not being able to see his children again as a "triggering factor". » . In particular, the defense asked the Court to re-evaluate the psychiatric reports of the parties and those of Paolo Milia appointed by the judge, which were deemed contradictory. In the previous hearing, prosecutor Enrica Angioni had asked for a life sentence for Baule, with the aggravating circumstances of cruelty, premeditation and having committed the crime in the presence of the couple's one-year-old twin children.
