Exhausted and tired, in very poor physical condition, a small fox was found in front of the Funtana Vecchia railway station square in Porto Torres.

The men of the Barracellare company, under the command of Gavino Cuccu, rescued the animal, found near a puddle of rainwater, and following a tip from a citizen, they took steps to protect it with the support of Coresa, the association for the recovery of wild animals.

The little fox of about six months, at a first examination did not present suspicious fractures or any kind of wounds, but the health conditions appeared rather critical. Therefore the decision of the commander of the Coresa was to transfer the animal to the Bonassai center to receive the necessary care.

Also on Tuesday morning, the Barracelli rescued two dogs that were wandering near the station.

For one of them it was possible to immediately trace the owner through the reading of the microchip. She was charged with fines of 50 euros for the obligation to protect, detain and lead the animals. For the second dog, without a microchip, it was decided to find shelter at the Andriolu kennel. In the meantime, investigations are underway to trace the owner, after it was ascertained that the animal was wearing a large leather collar.
