Morgongiori celebrates its new centenary. The entire community, in fact, rallied around Mrs. Evelina Perria who, on Wednesday, blew out 100 candles.

A large and well-attended party was organized in the premises of the former Elementary School of the town, in the presence of relatives, friends, the municipal administration, the parish priest and the Morgongiorese community.

Evelina Perria, originally from Morgongiori, where she currently lives, was married to Michele Demontis, known to all as Mario, with whom she had 8 children, taking care of their growth and household chores. The family has grown over the years, with 16 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren.

During the evening, in addition to the traditional cake, Mayor Paolo Pistis also gave Mrs. Perria a plaque, to celebrate the day, on behalf of the entire community of Morgongiori. For the small village on Monte Arci, Evelina Perria is the second centenarian; the other is Letizia Pistis, 103 years old.
