The signs of the black wave are carved on the altar of Montiferru. The shoots of arboreal resilience have only partially attenuated the dark color that three years ago scarred the land near Planargia. The damage, repaid little, in part and late, are indelible signs of an oxyacetylene flame that recalls those nefarious days that distorted the green heart of this strip of Sardinia. Nature is doing everything by itself, healing the wounds wickedly inflicted by criminal hands and by a perennial abandonment of forests and pastures, almost as if the great plan of "degradation" were the true final goal. Here, in the land of the extinct volcano of Monte Urtiga, five meters above a thousand meters of altitude, the proscenium dominates, from Sindia to Suni, from Macomer to Scano di Montiferro, from Cuglieri to Narbolia.

Wind binge

It is on these slopes that the new assault is about to take place, this time with wind turbines stretching over 200 meters into the sky of “Crastu Furones”, the epicenter of the great feast that multinationals and small-time companies have prepared in the complicit silence of the Palaces. Just look at the official map, that of the Superintendency charged with evaluating the avalanche of projects that has poured down like a wind flood on the Marghine hinterland, a stone's throw from the great Nuraghe of Santa Barbara in Macomer, to understand the extent of the crime.

Millionaire projects

Not projects just for the sake of it, not generic and alarmist wind threats as some upstarts of modern speculation would have us believe. Those presented to the Ministry for environmental “devaluation” are folders of papers, costing hundreds of thousands of euros, handsomely paid to planners most often from the political undergrowth, looking for crumbs and perks dispensed with impunity, here and there, by the lords of the wind. Projects of real multinationals who do not enjoy presenting golden papers without the certainty of being able to count on connections willing to give up authorizations and incentives for their invasion plan.

Industrial landscape

In the Montiferru hermitage, the projects presented are anything but an invasion. It is a boundless carnage of landscapes, monuments, nuragic and natural, of a territory that, according to the guardians of Cultural Heritage of the competent Ministry, is transforming from a strongly identifying landscape into an "industrial landscape". The map, which the Superintendency photographs in the official document that we publish, represents only a part, already very significant, of the greed that they would like to consume on those ridges targeted by flames and cheap trade, with "capital gains" more from football pools than from cadastral income increased by the Montiferru wind.

Avalanche of shovels & business

The projects filed with the Ministry of Wind Energy in Sardinia record an irrefutable fact, verifiable because public, where within a radius of a few kilometers emerge the beauty of 11 projects, all high-sounding with names and surnames of state companies and foreign agents on a trip to the land of olive trees and Malvasia. The overall picture is that of 900 megawatts, enough energy for almost a million people, in a territory that does not have more than 20,000 inhabitants. In the face of community rules that impose the criterion of "proximity", the absolute proximity between the production and consumption of "renewables". It is the projects on file that should make it clear that these gentlemen of the wind are not joking. No one is willing to take a step back just to "appropriate" a portion of the Montiferru space, to slice air and cash in on million-dollar incentives. Projects marked by power, number of blades, municipalities involved and companies.

The assault map

A map that leaves no escape: it is an unprecedented assault on this land tormented by fires and disenchantment. The eleven projects are a snapshot of the imminent risk, given that the Ministry of Energy Security does not care about the useless moratorium launched by the Region. One hundred and forty-seven wind turbines, the largest, those over 6 megawatts each, height declared in the projects over 200 meters.
