Cannabis plants, seeds, dried doses of narcotics . This is what the Sinnai forest rangers found during an operation in an illegal landfill in Maracalagonis , in the Roperi area , which led to the arrest of a man and the seizure of the 1600 square meter land . The forest rangers, on site because they were engaged in a service to combat waste abandonment, instead discovered an illegal cultivation of 17 cannabis indica plants , each over two meters tall.

Following the discovery, investigators carried out a search of an agricultural building, discovering six bags containing approximately 100 grams each of dried cannabis inflorescences, as well as approximately 240 seeds of the same plant. Also seized was the land on which, in addition to the illicit cultivation, there was an illegal landfill with various types of waste, some of which was dangerous.

After informing the magistrate on duty, the Forestry Corps patrol proceeded to arrest a man living in Maracalagonis. The suspect appeared this morning before the judge of the Court of Cagliari, who validated the arrest and ordered his release pending trial, set for October 1. He is accused of illicit cultivation of cannabis, a crime that carries a prison sentence of more than six years. He was also reported under the Consolidated Environmental Act for managing an illegal landfill, a crime that can carry up to two years of prison, a fine of 25,000 euros and confiscation of the land.
