With the first city council meeting in the square yesterday, Giuseppe Fasolino swore his third mandate as mayor of Golfo Aranci. «It is always an emotion to be sworn in as mayor of your hometown: it will be five years of work and sacrifices with a great responsibility and a great challenge, listening to everyone and uniting the town», began the new mayor, thanking the twelve councilors who they supported in the candidacy for the tricolor band, running without challengers.
«We want to listen to everyone's needs and the municipal council settling in Piazza Cossiga is proof of this: we will often use the formula of the open municipal council because we are sure that the best ideas for Golfo Aranci can arise from discussion with citizens», he added Fasolino.
The council was made official, with four councilors and the vice mayor, Giuseppe Langella, also appointed councilor for tourism, planning and budget, and eight delegations were assigned to the councillors. "We will not have just four councilors but twelve, the councilors have been given the delegation with a decree signed to give strength and dignity to everyone", explained the mayor, announcing that all city councilors will be able to participate in the council meetings. Furthermore, the president of the municipal council, Alessandra Feola, already a councilor in the previous council, was elected and said: «We find ourselves in a different situation than usual in which there will not be an opposition in the municipal council but we will find the confrontation by opening the Chamber for citizens". For the first time in the history of the autonomy of the Gallura Municipality, for 45 years, in fact, minority representation will be absent from the Assembly benches.
