Ferry in trouble, Sardinians stuck in Corsica: "The solution? Go to Livorno from Bastia and return to the island, madness"

It is an odyssey experienced by dozens of Sardinians, blocked in Corsica since Wednesday 13th due to the breakdown of the motor vessel "Giraglia", operating in the Bonifacio-Santa Teresa di Gallura route.
Impossible to disembark in the small Gallura town, with the route also lacking replacement ferries. A tragicomic picture emerges, they say, with the absence of ships for Sardinia even from Porto Vecchio and Ajaccio. The only solution, embark from Bastia for Livorno and then towards Olbia, with tripled costs.
"Saturday, November 9th," says Sara Marangoni, a weeding planner from Gonnesa, "my husband and I disembarked in Bonifacio to spend a few days relaxing on the island. We never imagined that our vacation would turn into a nightmare. When we reached Bonifacio on the morning of the 13th and were told that the ferry was broken, our blood ran cold."
Marangoni continues: « We asked for explanations from the port staff who not only did not give us support, but even omitted the presence of Corsica Ferries from Ajaccio to Porto Torres».
Thus, endless days pass, with the woman and her husband forced to stay in a hotel waiting for a solution: "After trying to embark from Porto Vecchio," adds Marangoni, " we booked with Corsica Ferries from Ajaccio. But after spending 102 euros on tickets, this morning the company told us they couldn't travel due to bad weather. All of this is surreal, as the ferry from Porto Torres regularly departed."
The only solution was to opt for Bastia in the direction of Tuscany, then returning to the port of Isola Bianca: "In these hours," adds the woman, "we have reached the city in the north of Corsica, where tomorrow at 8 we will leave for Livorno. Here we will stay until 22:30, boarding the other ship that will finally take us home, at 7 on Wednesday. All out of our own pockets, without any reimbursement for this misadventure, with entire families with children in tow."
To ease Marangoni's bad mood, the apologies of the Moby company for "the interruption of the service between Bonifacio-Santa Teresa" are not certain. Nor are the reassurances on the full operability of the ferry "Zaza" between Golfo Aranci and Porto Vecchio, pending the restoration of the motor vessel Giraglia.
"The excuses are useless," thunders Marangoni, "they should only be ashamed, along with the Corsican authorities, for having abandoned us to ourselves. We Sardinians are now victims of the transport chaos with no solutions in sight. We will ask for compensation for damages."
