No trace of the 39-year-old Irish hiker who has been missing since Friday 6 September: he seems to have vanished into thin air while walking along the Santa Barbara mining trail, in the stretch of coast between Masua and Cala Domestica.
The search continues without stopping . The Cagliari fire brigade command has set up an Advanced Command Post with a Ucl (local command unit) vehicle to coordinate the teams, operating on site with Tas (topography applied to rescue) specialists, Saf (alpine and fluvial speleology) team, Sapr (remotely piloted aircraft systems) unit with drones and a dog unit.
In addition to the ground teams, with off-road vehicles, the Drago 144 helicopter of the flight department was used, which took off from the Alghero base, and yesterday flew over the impervious areas surrounding the search area.
An impressive deployment of men and resources that unfortunately, so far, has not achieved the desired result.
