He had carried out 2,700 car inspections, without however having the qualification of technical manager and using the name of a person who had no longer worked with him for two years to sign the documents.
The owner of a workshop in Sant'Antioco ended up in the sights of the policemen of the Carbonia Traffic Police Detachment. The investigation was triggered by complaints and reports received by the Polstrada from some motorists who had found anomalies on the documents of their vehicles. When the officers carried out an inspection in the workshop they caught the owner red-handed while carrying out a technical check.
Subsequent investigations revealed that «he carried out the overhaul of over 2,700 vehicles, despite not having the qualification of technical manager. The name of the 'figurative' technical manager, which appears on the audit certificates, belongs to a person who has not worked at the company since 2022".
The man was therefore reported for material forgery committed by a public official in a public document. The premises, equipment and all documentation were seized.
Now over 2,700 MOTs will have to be redone. The DMV is contacting the affected motorists to remedy their situation.
