At Brotzu the protest is mounting, the doctors are preparing to call a strike. The Arnas doctors are the lowest paid in Sardinia, the Region had allocated 10 million euros for the equalization of salaries compared to the ASL, but nothing has been done.

The Cimo company secretariat, in a note «expresses strong concern and discomfort for the failure to start decentralized company bargaining and for the failure to resolve the problem of wage disparity with other regional companies. Among the issues that cause greatest concern is the smallness of the company funds of the Health Management, due to which the performance salary of Brotzu employees is equal to about a tenth of colleagues from other companies. We therefore ask for a concrete commitment from the political world and the Health Department – underlines the union of white coats – so that Article 5 of the regional law 1/2023 that allocated resources for the resolution of the problem is applied».

As a result of the lack of response received so far, "Cimo declares a state of agitation and reserves the right to undertake all initiatives aimed at proclaiming a day of strike. Healthcare, the phase of angels and heroes over, must return to being central to the regional government agenda", concludes the press release.

Francesco Agus, the group leader of the Progressives in the Regional Council, intervenes. "Yesterday, the medical managers of the Brotzu company received, albeit late with respect to the deadlines, the additional salary. The per capita figure is about 8,000 euros less than colleagues from other regional companies. The inertia and lack of clarity in the accounts demonstrated by the company in recent years undoubtedly weighs on this. I believe immediate action is necessary by the Regional Department. To verify the balance sheets and funds of Arnas and to apply the regional law once and for all. In the 2023 budget, even with a regional government of a different political color, one of our proposals was meritoriously accepted: an allocation of ten million to make salaries uniform in the various companies by leveling them, as is right, upwards. Almost two years later, despite the government having renounced the challenge of that article and other regions with special statutes having implemented similar decisions, despite the constitutional court with sentence no. 124 having clarified the legitimacy of such action, the law in question is still culpably disapplied. It is unacceptable".
