The agreement is there, now it's official: Adam Obert has signed a new agreement with Cagliari Calcio until June 30, 2029. The announcement was made by the club itself, in a note.
Born in Bratislava, class of 2002, he arrived in Italy at just 16 years old in the Sampdoria youth team. Noticed by Cagliari, in the summer of 2021 he continued his career on the Island. He was initially aggregated to the Primavera, with which he made his debut on August 21st against Lecce: he will collect 18 appearances and 1 goal during the season, contributing to reaching the playoffs and coming within a whisker of the Scudetto final. Despite his young age, he also immediately entered the first team: he made his debut in Serie A on October 24th, at 19 years old, away to Florence. Between the championship and the Coppa Italia he will take the field 8 times.
In the 2022/23 season he played 35 games, carving out a leading role in the team's climb to the top flight. His qualities were confirmed in the following championship in Serie A, where he played 20 games and contributed to the team's salvation. In this championship he has made 14 appearances so far: with a signature assist - ball recovery, solo run to transform the action from defensive to offensive and vertical pass for Piccoli - he was among the architects of the away win against Monza, last January 5. Two weeks later, in Cagliari-Lecce 4-1, he scored his first professional goal with a great left-footed curler under the crossbar.
He has made 13 appearances for Slovakia's U21 team, making his debut for the senior national team on 20 November 2022. He has already made 11 appearances for the team, including 2 at the 2024 European Championship in Germany.
