At least 2,000 people have been arrested on American university campuses during the pro-Gaza protests in recent days.

The AP reports this on its website, underlining that at UCLA alone, the University of California, there were 200 arrests. Even in Columbia, New York, the police had to intervene in force to stem the protests.

President Joe Biden also spoke on the wave of protests against Israel's offensive in the Strip: «Vandalism, breaking windows, closing campuses and forcing classes to be canceled are not peaceful protests, just as threatening or intimidate people."

«Dissent – added Biden – is essential for democracy, but it must never lead to disorder. America is not an authoritarian country, but not a lawless country either. This is why order must prevail."

The pro-Palestine demonstrations do not only involve US universities. In Paris, the management of Sciences Po announced the closure of its headquarters due to new employment.

In Roma Tre, however, an "anti-Zionist torchlight procession" was organized to remember the death of the rector of the Islamic University of Gaza.
