It was at the bottom of the sea, off the west coast of Malta, the body of the Italian diver who disappeared last Sunday when, in camouflage, he was seen near Freeport, the cargo port near Bizebuggia.
On Tuesday, the Maltese police had released a search notice for Danilo Scolari, a 42-year-old Tuscan and spearfishing enthusiast.
Yesterday morning the report of the presence of a corpse in the water near Filfla arrived and the intervention of the Afm was requested for the recovery. The body was taken to the military naval base in Xatt it-Tiben. The Italian embassy has been informed, as have family members who are expected in Malta.
The circumstances and the dynamics of the death are not clear, considering that the Freeport is a no-diving area and that at this time of the year the sea conditions are not favorable.
