Head-on collision in the industrial area of Tortolì. Just before 12.30 today, a Fiat Punto crashed into a Renault Kadjar: both cars were destroyed.

The four members of a family traveling on the Kadjar were slightly bruised: father, mother and two children. The driver of the Punto, a 23-year-old of Moroccan origins who lives in Tortolì, was unharmed.

The cause of the collision was a lack of right of way. According to an initial reconstruction, the Punto was traveling along the road parallel to Viale Arbatax in the direction of the fire brigade detachment. The driver attempted a desperate braking, quite long as confirmed by the traces left on the asphalt, without however managing to stop at the stop sign. The firefighters, ambulance crews, alerted by the 118 operations center of Sassari, and the carabinieri of the Lanusei company intervened on site.
