It is impossible at this moment to estimate the damages, but it is certain that yesterday's accident on the runway of Olbia airport will have a legacy with significant requests for compensation.

This situation arises due to the incident involving an ENAV aircraft. From the first technical checks, the accidental factor (gusts of wind) appears to have been ruled out, whereas a technical problem would have made the Piaggio P180 unmanageable when it ended up off the track . It will therefore have to be ascertained who is responsible for the explosion of a tire or the malfunction of the turboprop landing gear.

The National Civil Aviation Authority (Enac) will ascertain whether the problem is the result of poor maintenance or a manufacturing defect. Hundreds of passengers are already seeking compensation, yesterday about ten flights were canceled and forty were delayed. Enav will also proceed with an internal verification of the episode that put the safety of its employees at risk.

Polaria staff, led by manager Christian Puddu, have not yet detected any criminal aspects of the matter, the investigations are of an administrative nature. The Piaggio P180 Avanti aircraft will soon be subjected to checks by a pool of technicians.
