The 2024 edition of the “Matteo Sanna” competition, organized by the “La.Tua.Musa” APS Association, was reserved for students of the electronic music courses of the two Sardinian conservatories. The event which took place in the auditorium of the "Giovanni Pierluigi da Palestrina" Conservatory in Cagliari saw 10 participants from the two Sardinian conservatories who presented compositions for instrument and live electronics and audiovisual and tape works.

Francesco Corrias, enrolled in the two-year course, won with the audiovisual composition "Playing with sa burra, ecos e tramas", while the special prize went to the "Giovanni Pierluigi da Palestrina" student Marco Ruiu for the piece "Mercede" for accordion ( played by Eleonora Steri) and live electronics.

The commission was formed for the Cagliari Conservatory by the director Aurora Cogliandro and the teacher Daniele Ledda, for the Sassari Conservatory by the deputy director Gian Carlo Grandi and the teacher Stefano Melis as well as by the president of the “Matteo Sanna” Association, Candida Manca. Furthermore, the students of the Sassari Conservatory Emanuele Sara, Deliaurora Cadeddu, Roberto Desiato, Francesco Ponti, Edoardo Lai, Michela Pilo, Alfredo Puglia and Daniele Matta of the Cagliari Conservatory participated.

The ninth edition of the competition, that of 2025, will be held at the Sassari Conservatory.
